In the summer of 2025, Texas State Statue 1481 was passed to prohibit student' use of personal wireless communication devices during the day. These devices include cell phones, smart watches, earbuds/airpods, headphones, tablets, personal computers and smart glasses.

Kahla Knights are expected to turn off and store devices in their backpacks from the time they enter school, until the time they leave. Students that violate the policy will be subject to disciplinary referrals and fines from the Assistant Principal's office.
