April 30, 2015—CFISD high school and middle school Science Olympiad teams placed among the top 25 in their respective divisions at the Texas Science Olympiad, held April 25-25 at Texas A&M University in College Station.

Langham Creek High School was the highest-ranking CFISD school in the C Division, placing fourth with 175 points. Cypress Ranch High School placed sixth with 227 points and Cypress Falls High School placed seventh with 254 points to round out CFISD’s top-10.

Cy-Fair and Cypress Woods high schools placed 19th and 22nd, respectively, with scores of 324 and 356.

In the B Division, Aragon Middle School led all CFISD competitors in 14th place with 298 points. Hopper Middle School placed 17th with 363 points, followed by 20th-place Anthony Middle School (375) and 23rd-place Kahla Middle School (388).

“With only 30 teams qualifying for both high school and middle school, it was outstanding that we had five of our high schools and four of our middle schools competing in the State Science Olympiad this past weekend at A&M,” said David Wallace, secondary science curriculum specialist. “I am so proud of everyone’s performance at state. All five of the high schools brought back medals and all four of the middle schools had new head coaches.”
